Social Media Advances

Consumers to businesses are lifetime partners that they would love to keep and continue to build a relationship. This relationship like most of our different type of relationships today are found on the internet and continued through social media outlets. Facebook and Myspace have kept friends and family up to date with everyone's daily life, which is why businesses have decided to attack social media websites and add new friends everyday and keep their new friends up to date with their products and new sales. These businesses create fan web pages for them to like and add as a fan so that they can market through their product through the millions of users daily. Wendy's created a facebook fan page in order to market their new "Sea-Salt French Fries" which users could receive for free if they like their new fan's page. Though people may see this as ineffective to market a product because you don't exactly close out a sale online. These coupons and exposure to their new product will give consumers a chance to try their new product so that consumer's will keep in mind the new delicious product that Wendy's has to offer, next time they are looking for a quick bite for lunch or dinner. This type of advertisement is more effective than traditional pop-up ads because everyone always close out or block the pop-up ads which renders the ads ineffective. Facebook do offer ads on the sides but consumer's favorite brands will continue to be a continuing relationship with the consumer which they will continue to market their products to them as they become fans of the brand. There are even tips out there to help utilize the Internets' other social media websites to increase business. Social media even though may not be as promising with consumers. They do have a better effect than regular pop-up ads for companies.
